Through the utilization of a skilled workforce operating in a safe and reliable manner and leveraging technology, Karakudukmunai sustains its low-cost and low-carbon-intensity crude oil production.
We produce five different grades of crude oil. These are Heavy/Sweet, Heavy/Sour, Medium/Sweet Medium Sour, Light/Sweet, and Light/Sour This gives us flexibility, guided by our outlook and assessment of future refinery requirements in our markets, to optimize our crude oil production mix to always meet our customer’s needs. And we continue to invest in our upstream capabilities to ensure we meet rising demand, well into the future.
Crude oil production in Kazakhstan was steadily growing since the early 2000s and in recent years the growth has slowed down and in 2008 there was even a slight decline in growth. In 2010 oil production in Kazakhstan has over 500 million tons per year and this level has been rising ever since then.
Kazakhstan is one of the largest participants of crude oil production in the global market and also the key supplier of Crude oil, Natural gas, and petroleum products for European markets and increases of oil supplies to North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
